sparkly and bright...

Good morning all.  This weeks Papertake Weekly challenge is called "Sparkly and Bright".  It seemed the perfect opportunity to post the first Christmas card of the year.  I made this one earlier this month and have been waiting for the perfect challenge to slide it into.  My snowflakes are embossed in silver on violet card stock then cut out with these super cool new dies that Our Daily Bread Designs sells to match many of their stamp sets.

Make sure you pop over to the team blog and play along with us. Check out what the rest of the team has done and show them some love.

papertake sketch challenge...

Good morning all.  Sorry about the week off from posting.  Life has been a bit crazy around here.  Nothing new I know but I found myself a bit overwhelmed.  I have actually found time to stamp, just not time to post so I will try to play catchup this week and get them posted for you.  This mornings card is for the Papertake Weekly challenge.  Our challenge this week is another fabo sketch from our own Dawny P.  Why don't you join us and play along?

Happy Birthday Kelley!

If you are looking for the Papertake Weekly blog hop please scroll down one post.

Welcome to Kelley's, the owner and creator of Our Daily Bread Designs, birthday celebration.  The Breadsticks have gotten together once again to honor our fearless leader with a blog hop just for her.  So if you came from Angie's blog then you are in the right place, if you didn't you may want to pop over the Our Daily Bread Designs blog and start the hop at the beginning.

Grace thought it would be a great idea to make her some fresh samples with some of the older sets so I pulled out one of my all time favorites, "Keep My Lamp Burning".   Once again my card is fairly simple.  I masked the light house and added color by sponging.  I added a bit of ribbon and a bunch of black brads and just a pop of red to keep things interesting.

Now it is time to you to hop over to Julie's blog and check out what loveliness she has to share.  Then on to visit Chris and Sabrina.

What I used:
Our Daily Bread Designs Keep My Lamp Burning
Canvas background stamp
SU kraft, black, real red, crushed curry and white
BG Marrakech designer paper
Versafine black
SU soft sky, baja breeze, summer sun and more mustard classic ink pads
clear embossing powder
sponge
black brads and striped ribbon

Time with Debi: Pray

Hello everyone.  It is always a pleasure to take my turn at the "Time with" post on the Our Daily Bread Designs blog and today is my day.  I decided to go for simple this time since usually I try to do something elaborate but I really needed a man card for a friend that is going through a tough time.  And the new Wood background stamp and Pray stamp set seemed to be a perfect choice to combine together to make a simple man card.
What I used:
Our Daily Bread Designs Wood Background and Pray from the Full of Grace collection
kraft, espresso brown and cranberry card stock
espresso, cocoa and kraft inks
Spare Parts screw head brads, wide grosgrain ribbon, sponge

Now onto my card.  I am in a fallish kinda mood (you know what I mean, the leaves are turning beautifully and it is football every weekend) so the new set "Randi's Song" was absolutely the perfect set to express that.  I went for simple as usually, just a couple of pops of color to let the verse shine through.  For a something a little different both verses are actually stamped on some of the Basic Grey Pyrus designer paper, you know those pages in the back that are usually left over, one of those.  I just added a bit of sponging to soften them up a bit, then layered them on some more of the yummy pyrus paper.
Well enough blah, blah, blah about me because it is time for you to hop over to visit our fabulous guest designer for the next couple of months Marcelle Schauer's blog "Stamping Thyme".  Make sure you show her some love.

What I used:
SU cajun craze, early espresso card stock
Basic Grey Pyrus designer paper
SU early espresso, crumb cake, close to cocoa ink pad
sponges
SU vintage brad and stripped ribbon
