double tagged...

Image
I have gotten tagged twice in one day. The first tag was by Deborah one of my online Splitcoast friends and you can view her blog beadn' & stampin' here . I have done this a couple of times before so I am likely to repeat myself. 1. I am a avid reader. I have easily read over 5000 books. We have bookcases in every room or our house with the exception of the bathrooms, we even have them in the hallways. One year in my early married days when I was working days and my hubby was working nights I read 407 books that year. I no longer keep track but I easily average 3 books a week. If I read more then that my household starts to decay. 2. I have 3 cats. One crabby calico old lady who insists on sleep with me every night and if she feels that I am not in bed at an appropriate hours will remind me, repeatedly until I comply and head off to bed. One very fat tuxedo cat. He is of course very handsome because every man looks good in a tux right? And one little gray baby b...

wild about you...

I am wild about babies, love them bunches and there is nothing like the smell of a new baby. Even when they smell bad, they smell good if you know what I mean. Thought that I would tackle a baby card this morning. This template is really easy and I don't remember where I got it but I didn't invent it and it has been around forever. I needed easy this morning since my lovely children passed on to me the nasty cold they have all been suffering from. What I used: God's Blessings, Wild About You stamp sets, Polka Dot background stamp Soft Sky and Very Vanilla card stock Vellum Soft Sky, Going Grey, Brocade Blue, Real Red, Always Artichoke classic ink pad Silver eyelets, Very Vanilla taffeta ribbon 1 1/4 circle punch, Scalloped circle punch

lots to share today...

Image
I had a really productive afternoon today. Not only did I clean my office, I completely trashed it all over again. Doesn't that sound like fun? The cleaning wasn't really that much fun and now I need to do it all over again but at least I had fun making a mess right? I needed a little me stamping time because I have had sick kids for the last week or so. Some weird fever bug is working its way through all my children and they can't seem to be nice to their mother and all be sick at once they are taking turns instead, just when one gets health and back to school the next one gets sick, wouldn't be that big of a deal if I didn't have 5 kids for it to go through. Lots of Stampin' Up! excitement in the last couple of days. The retirement list is out, if you need a copy you can view it on the Stampin' Up! website or email me and I will send it to you. Also there was a big announcement about SU!'s new Decor Elements collection. Self-adhesive vinyl wa...

Thoughts of Father...

Image
Since tomorrow is Father's Day, I thought I would share the two cards I made for my Dad and my father-in-law. No I didn't mail them so they would get to Florida in time so hopefully Dad won't be checking out my blog before Tuesday, which is when his card and present should arrive. And if he is reading this, ah, ar, sorry Daddy you know how I tend to procrastinate, right? What I used; Thoughts of Father stamp set Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Confetti White card stock Black Stazon ink pad Watercolor Wonder Crayons and aquapainter Earth Element brads Chocolate Chip wide grosgrain ribbon What I used: Thoughts of Father stamp set Wild Wasabi, Basic Black, Confetti White card stock Black Stazon ink pad Watercolor Wonder Crayons and aquapainter

I am teaching a learn a new technique class today (yes I procrastinated!) and the stampers are all pretty advanced so I wanted to teach them Julie Buhler's "No Copics? No problem!" technique. She has a fabulous tutorial here . I love the bright vivid look of anything colored with the copic markers but they are way out of my price range. Since I do own most of SU's markers but I prefer to water color this is the perfect compromise. What I used: Morning Soft stamp set Night of Navy and Brocade Blue card stock Wild Wasabi prints designer paper water color paper black Stazon ink pad Brocade Blue wide grosgrain ribbon, Wild Wasabi double stitched grosgrain ribbon Stampin' Write markers, aquapainter

Are you sick of me using this set yet??? Or does it just make you want it more? I can not believe how many different ways you can use this set. Today I tried it with the Chalkboard technique and did it on a chocolate chip background, like Beate Johns. Instead of me telling you how to do it I want to direct you to her tutorial , which is very well done. What I used: Fresh Cuts stamp set, Sanded background Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke card stock Pretty in Pink print designer paper (hostess level 1) Whisper White craft ink pad Close to Cocoa, Always Artichoke classic ink pads Pastels applied with a Qtip Coluzzle cutting system, small corner rounder, sponge

More fresh cuts and no more brace face!

There is nothing like a brand new stamp set to bring out your creativity! So I pulled out the new Fresh Cuts set again today to see what else I could do with it. I really like the collage look of this main image. I stamped it in blue bayou classic ink, sponged the edges with soft sky, and when that wasn't quite enough I dragged the image across the stamp pad. I colored the flowers with a real red marker and did the leaves with a mellow moss marker. It doesn't really show in the picture but I added some highlights with the white gel pen. What I used: Fresh Cuts stamp set Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, Whisper White card stock Soft Sky Prints designer paper Real Red wide grosgrain ribbon Large and small oval punches, ticket corner punch Real Red and Mellow Moss Stampin' Write markers, white Signo gel pen sponge Now I gotta do some braggin' on my kid. Daniel has had his braces on for FOUR long years. So... drum roll please........... tada! $3700 24 payments 42 office visits ...

An apology and new toys...

Image
First I need to apologize. My life got crazy again and I haven't had time to stamp much less update my blog. My oldest son came home from his first year of college then we took the whole family off to Williamsburg Virginia for the Memorial Day weekend. Anyway in the middle of the chaos Stampin' Up! released a new stamp set and some new note cards that will be in the Fall/Winter catalog. The new stamp set is called Fresh Cuts and the note cards are laser cut and too cute for words. I am going to be doing a class with these notes and gift box, so if you are one of my local customers and you are interested check out my demo website for all the details. Todays gift sets colors were inspired by the Felt Flower Fusions. What I used: Fresh Cuts stamp set Old Olive, Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie card stock Bali Breeze designer paper Fresh Cut notes and envelopes Old Olive, Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie classic stamp pads 5 point flower punch, silver brads, Flower Fusion felt flowers.
