papertake sketch challenge...

Once again blogger ate my post and failed to deliver as scheduled on Tuesday morning.  Sorry about that.  Maybe my new years resolution should be to check my blog more frequently...

Good morning all.  Hope that you had a wonderful Christmas.  For us it was wonderful with a large portion of the family gathered around us, still sad that some couldn't join us, but wonderful never the less.  It was fun to see the delight of the littles and the bigs alike Christmas morning and to join with our church family Christmas Eve at candlelight service.  Now we are enjoying the school break, playing with our new toys and enjoying a bit of snow.  Blessings all!

Being Tuesday it is once again time for another Papertake Weekly challenge.  This weeks challenge is another fabulous sketch from our own Dawny P.  Why don't you give it a shot and play along with us.

December Our Daily Bread Designs new release blog hop...

Welcome to the Our Daily Bread Designs December new release blog hop! If you got here from Grace's blog, you are in the right place! If not, you should start at the ODBD blog so you don’t miss a thing! There are lots of goodies up for grabs this month…. so be sure to follow the rules listed on the ODBD blog to qualify to win one of the prizes!

I was really thrill to see the new releases for this month, especially this verse stamp.  I am an avid reader, in my free time, and have been since I was a little girl.  One of my all time favorite authors is Laura Ingalls Wilder.  I spent many a day as a girl curled up with one of her books so I just had to make my first card of the month using this quote from the Simple Things stamp set.  Once again I have chosen to go simple for my card.  Just the verse and some wonder Basic Grey and BoBunny designer papers

Now make sure you head on over to visit Dawn's blog and see what loveliness she has to share with you.
What I used:
SU bashful blue and early espresso
Versafine black, Ranger antique linen
SU ribbon

I don't know about you but every year I search for a design for my Christmas cards that is mailable.  You know what I mean, not to many layers, nothing to lumpy or bumpy to make the postman go well postal and make me pay $1 for each card I need to mail.  When I first saw the new Our Daily Bread Designs set Warm Wishes I knew that I had found this years card because it doesn't get any more mailable then a super clean and simple one layer card.  On this card I did use some taffeta ribbon which lays really flat and a little tree charm, tho the charm will be left off of the ones I mass produce.  I added a couple of touches of glitter to the snow and some touches of flower soft just to give the card a little interest.
Now hop on over and visit Patter and see what loveliness she has in store for you.

This card is also for this weeks Papertake Weekly challenge which is an anything goes challenge with the option to add glitter or bling.  Why don't you join us and play along, after you finish the blog hop of course!

What I used:
GP white
Versafine black, Memento black
clear embossing powder, flower soft, glitter pen
