challenge time

It's that time again. Time for an Elzybell challenge. Todays challenge was a sketch challenge set by Rachel. I love sketch challenges and this sketch that Rachel came up with is a fun one. Try it out and see what you come up with. Here is what I came up with. I used prisma color pencils to color the bear and blended with a rolled paper stump and mineral spirits. My camera kind of washed him out a little bit, my fault for taking the picture in the middle of the night. What I used: Butterfly Ted Elzybell Art Stamps whisper white, wild wasabi, bashful blue card stock My Mind's Eye designer paper prismacolor pencils coluzzle circle cutter small corner rounder wide stitched bashful blue grosgrain ribbon Make sure you check out what Elizabeth and the rest of the belles have done with the challenge... I'm back!

Sorry about the long delay with out any new post. Our family just returned Sunday from a 2+ week vacation to Florida. This post will mostly be blah, blah, blah about my trip so if you are only interesting in the stamping part of my life you might want to skip this post, though I have a second one with todays Elzybell challenge that I will put up just as soon as I am done with this one. I have spent the last several days doing what seemed like a mountain of laundry, grocery shopping and catching up with everyone. Does it ever seem like your vacation makes you need a vacation? Anyway we had a wonderful time. We spent the first week of our vacation on Sanibel Island, at the beach or mostly anyway because our 2 day drive to get there turned into 4 1/2 days. We started out on Good Friday in 2 vehicles because we were bringing Matt (our oldest son) his car, which is finally on the road. We ended up staying the night near him and having breakfast with him on Saturday morning before we ...

It is that time again. Time for an Elzybell Design Team challenge. This fortnights challenge is a recipe challenge. We are to use one piece of ribbon and only one embellishment. I paper pieced my cat in the window. The window itself was stamped on chocolate chip card stock then cut out with an exacto knife. The window pane is vellum with the curtains behind the glass. The little kitty and flower pot are then layered on last. My embellishment is the little red gem in the center of the flower. ever after...

I know it has been awhile again since I posted but I am almost done with my Artisan Award projects and hope to go postal with them this weekend. Decided to take a break from that and household drudgery and play with todays sketch challenge and yesterdays color challenge from SplitCoastStampers. I have had this stamp set, Ever After, for a while now, I bought it to make some wedding cards but haven't had time to play with it before today. I thought it would work nicely with the Pirouette Pink, Riding Hood Red and Chocolate Chip color combination. Nothing very fancy or different on this card though I did sponge the edges of everything with chocolate chip ink. On the background I used one of the Stampin' Up! texture plates and sponged the texture a little bit to make it stand out more. The heart of the main image is inked with riding hood red classic ink then I ran a chocolate chip marker around the end before I stamped. What I used: Ever After stamp set Romance wheel Choco...
