I'm back again...

Wow I actually survived almost an entire week without internet service. Finally got a new router and it is up and functioning. So I am back to blogging. I missed a bunch of interesting challenges over on Splitcoast Stampers while I was out of touch. I did this card to cover 3 challenges. The "Try a New Technique", color and sketch challenges. The new technique part of the challenge was this interesting medallion made using the Dahlia fold technique. Because I wanted to do the color challenge called "Making YoYo Yellow look good!" (yoyo yellow, basic gray and going gray) as well as the sketch challenge I used layered circles of yoyo yellow and basic gray instead of double sided designer paper. This is NOT the easy way to do the dahlia fold. It makes your circles hard to fold and your flower
very bulky. In fact it was down right difficult but when I get one of these bright ideas I seem to need to go all the way with it. The folds are not really difficult to do but instead of giving you step by step instructions I would like you to check out this website for some excellent directions that I followed.

What I used:
Elegant Cheer stamp set, Paisley background stamp, Polka Dot background stamp
basic gray, going gray, yoyo yellow card stock
going gray, basic gray, basic black classic stamp pads
1 3/8 inch circle punch
