no stampin' just lots and lots of braggin'

Football season is always the busiest time of the year for my family. Our second son Daniel has been playing football since the age of eight so the months of August, September and October are consumed by practices and games and all the other fun stuff involved with the season. Our daughter Jessika has been cheering for our PopWarner team for 3 years now so that involves once again, practices, games, competitions and good grief CHEER HAIR! I can only imagine what my life is going to be like when Ellie starts cheering and Manny starts playing.

This weekend was homecoming. Homecoming at my children's school is near and dear to my heart since they attend MY hometown high school. Homecoming in our small town is one of the wonderful things about living where I live. It starts out with the spaghetti supper Friday night then continues with the Varsity girls soccer game, bonfire and dance. Saturday begins with a 5K walk/run race and parade then concludes with a Varsity football game against arch rivals Weedsport. Very small town, very wonderful.

This year was extra special because this year Daniel is on the varsity football team. The younger kids and I missed the parade this year because Jessi had to cheer at a PopWarner game earlier in the day and we arrived just in time for kickoff. The game wasn't looking to good through the third quarter. I was actually kinda thinking about going home because the little ones were tired when my boy caused a feeble that resulted in our team scoring. Then we scored again, and again and again scoring 30 points in the 4th quarter, winning the game and guaranteeing themselves a spot in the play offs. Does Dan look excited in this picture or what???Sunday was spent at a cheerleading competition. Jessika's team did a fair job. Not moving on to the next level but they are a very young team and will do better next time. The older girls from our team won the competition which was very exciting and a great example for our younger girls to follow.Did I mention cheer hair?
To round out an already crazy weekend the Southard clan made their annual trip to the pumpkin patch. We look forward to this every year and I always stop at the greenhouse across the road to buy some mums. We found the biggest pumpkins we have ever gotten this year. Check them out...
Manny found a big one...
but Daniel's was even bigger...
Manny looking really cute while waiting for Dad to get him a donut and some cider.
Jessi sitting on a pile of pumpkins, man I hope she gets that other tooth soon!
After we got home we cleaned up the porch and arranged all of our pumpkins and mums and the corn stalks from Uncle Lo's garden. The front of the house looks wonderful, will have to take some more pics and share that with you soon.
