happy easter...

This weeks Papertake Weekly challenge is sort of an Easter free for all.  So I pulled out this Stampin' Up! stamp set from last year that *gasp* had never actually even been inked up!  I stamped my image twice and colored both images with prismacolor pencils, blended with odorless mineral spirits.  I then cut out parts of the second image and popped them up to adds some extra dimension to the first image.  I used the sketch from this weeks Crazy 4 Challenges and the technique (paper toile) from the Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge. a little mojo in my monday...

Good morning.  Hope your day is going well.  Mine started out a little rough my oldest daughter isn't feeling well and as a result stayed home from school today but she is happily camped out on the couch watching movies so that I could get in a little bit of creative time.  For my card today I decided to combine the Mojo Monday sketch challenge with todays SplitCoastStampers Try a New Technique challenge, which was to decorate your card inside, as well as out.  Now I have to admit that I am just a tad bit lazy about decorating the inside of my cards.  So it was good that Holly had laid down this challenge.  I used the many layers of the sketch as a perfect excuse to drag out my brand new Basic Grey Green at Heart designer paper and paired it with the Our Daily Bread Designs Scripture Collection 3 . and the inside What I used: ODBD Scripture Collection 3 SU chocolate chip, old olive, pretty in pink card stock Basic Grey Green at Heart chocolate chip cr...

papertake weekly sketch...

Good morning all!  Sorry that it has been a while since I posted.  I came off of my vacation into the Our Daily Bread Designs anniversary celebration (which was fabulous don't ya think?), a house full of chaos and a full work schedule.  When your brain is stuck on island time this is not an easy thing, then throw in the time change and you have a recipe for disaster, in my life anyway.  Hoping that I have it under control now.   This weeks Papertake Weekly challenge is a fabulous sketch from our own Dawny P.  I love this sketch and I already have a second card with it in process.  For this one I sort of stretched the sketch out to make it into a standard A2 card instead of a square card.  I used Kraftin' Kimmie's adorable Lucy & Ricky , colored with my Prismacolor pencils and some of Basic Grey's Sugar Rush designer paper . our sketch: This weeks Papertake Weekly sponsor is: Make sure you pop over to the  team blog  and play along...

Well today is the day!  Two years ago today Kelley Holland opened up Our Daily Bread Designs.  Now I have to tell you that I have been a fan since day one.  I was really excited to see a stamp company that carried lovely images paired with scripture.  Stamps that allow me to express my faith, through my craft. Since that first day Kelley has released 61 wonderful stamps sets and 9 individual stamps, all filled with scripture!  I dreamed of being a part of the design team and was thrill to be asked to be a part, even a small part, of this fabulous company!  Happy Anniversary Our Daily Bread Designs and may God continue to bless your venture. Welcome to day four of the Our Daily Bread Designs Anniversary celebration.  Todays challenge is to use your favorite ODBD stamp set to make a project.  For my card I used my all time favorite stamp set "Keep My Lamp Burning". For all the details on the challenge pop over to the Our Daily Bread Designs blog .  As with the other challenges this week there will be a prize for a randomly drawn entry AND several of the design team members have hidden blog candy so you want to make sure you visit all of the participating members blogs and leave a comment for your chance to win.  For my card I stamped the lighthouse image in Versafine black then embossed the image with clear embossing powder.  I colored the light with a yellow marker then masked the image and sponged with a couple of different colors of distress ink, removed the mask and sponged some more.  I distressed most of the layers of card stock and added some sewn details, hemp and a silver wheel charm....

lilac and lemon...

Good morning all.  Being Tuesday it is time for the Papertake Weekly challenge .  This weeks challenge is a color challenge entitled "Lilac and Lace".  My card uses some really old designer paper that I have had forever and don't have a clue where it came from but the colors on it are the closest I could find.  Apparently I am not much of a purple fan so I have very little of it in my stash.  The image on this card is from Our Daily Bread Design Happy Easter set. Buttons, Bows, Brads & Bling...

Image
It is pretty unusual for me to use more then two embellishments on a card so this challenge from Papertake Weekly is pushing the limits a bit for me with our challenge entitled "Buttons, Bows, Brads & Bling".  But if you look carefully you will notice that the pillow in this adorable image from Moe's Digital Pencil  is all glittery, I added a button to my bow and some brads down the side so I really did manage to pull it off.  My image is colored with Prismacolor pencils and Copic markers were used for the flesh tones.  Why don't you join us and play along?
