February Our Daily Bread Designs blog hop

Good morning all and welcome to the Our Daily Bread Designs February new release blog hop!  If you arrived here from Chris's blog "Twinkles Glow with Stamps" then you are in the right place.  If not you may want to hop over to the Our Daily Bread Designs blog and start at the beginning so you don't miss any of the good stuff.

The hop will run from 8:00am Tuesday, the first until 8:00pm Wednesday, the second.  Kelley is giving away 6 fabulous prizes this month!  Winners will be announced on the ODBD blog.  To be eligible you need to visit each of the designers blog and leave them a comment, then return to the ODBD blog to tell us that you completed the hop and to answer the question.

For my card I chose to use what I think may be my favorite of this new release, "Anchor".  I love the image and spent an entire evening experimenting with different ways to color it.  On this image I combined color with markers, sponging and a bit of white gel pen.  I then cut and embossed my verse (using my great big beautiful Grand Calibur) adding a bit of sponging.  It is all layered on a piece of Basic Grey Wander designer paper with an anchor charm and some star brads.
Now those of you that are regular followers know that I am also a part of the Papertake Weekly challenge team so I have a bit of a conflict when ever the first falls on a Tuesday.  This month I decided to combine the challenge with my blog hop card since the challenge is "Anything Goes" (with the option of flowers, that I opted not to use) it seemed appropriate.  Why don't you pop over and check out our challenge and play along.

Now it is time for you to head over to view what fabulousness Angie has in store for you on her blog "Body, Mind, Spirit and Stamps".

What I used:
SU basic black,  real red, baja breeze and whisper white
Versafine black, SU baja breeze
Grand Caliber, spellbinders Classic large oval die
black grosgrain ribbon, SU star brads, anchor charm (a gift from a friend)

I always love to see color combinations others put together. I do not know that I would have thought to use such a vivid background with the more muted foreground, but it definitely works! I want to try something like it myself but I am not sure I can put together colors that compliment each other like you have. Thanks for the idea- it is one I will be playing around with.
