more essense of love and scrapperitis...
I really am not to sure about this card but I hope you all like it. Supposedly it is now spring, though this weekends weather certainly did not feel like it at all. Anyway, whining aside, this card is supposed to be spring like.
What I used:
Essense of Love stamp set, Sanded background stamp
Mellow Moss, Cameo Coral, Apricot Appeal, Whisper White cardstock
Mellow Moss, Creamy Caramel, Basic Black classic ink pads
Apricot Appeal grosgrain ribbon, sponge
I try to do a quarterly scrapbooking crop with my friends and customers. My motives are purely selfish in that it forces me to make time to scrapbook since I am now dreadfully behind. Hard to believe that at one point I was completely caught up and working backward. Currently I am more then 2 years behind. Back to the point, this weekend was my crop. Since it was a small group, mostly my best stampin' buddies we held it in my not quite complete family room (more on that later). Now I didn't get as much done as I would have liked, that is tough when you are the hostess but I did do a couple of things that are worth showing. Now I have to warn you of two things. One I am a mediocre scrapper at best and secondly that though these pages use all Stampin' Up! products some of the stamp sets are retired.
This first page is probably my favorite even though it is really simple. I purchased this stamp set specifically to do the rock and roll technique with then the darn thing got retired before I could even get to use it. Well now I finally have used it, you will note the this set (Autumn Fest) is on my sale list but no longer like new.
This page is for my brand new nephew Gavin. This is the only picture I have of him so far. My daughter Jessi kept handling the picture so I thought that I had better scrap it before it gets to worn out. I am going to frame this page in a scrapbook page frame that I bought, just as soon as I white wash the frame. When I get some more pictures of him I will start a scrapbook just for him.
These pictures are from my daughter Jessika's 5th birthday and my son Manny's 4th birthday (their birthdays are less then two weeks apart) and frankly the pictures where terrible. I have to assume that one of my older boys took the pictures since I am actually in a couple of the pictures. I needed to go really simple to try to make the pictures look as good as they could.
I did more but the later the night got the worse that my pages came out so you will just have to wait until I tweak them before I am ready to share them. Now an interesting thing happened to me, I did a lot of cutting this time and my right thumb is completely numb all down the outside edge. Could this be an advanced case of scrapperitis??? Will I ever get the feeling back in my thumb? Well despite the numbness I am working on painting my new almost complete family room. I put two coats of primer on the walls yesterday and hope to get two coats on the ceiling this afternoon. Yes I know that is backwards but I just couldn't face the ladder yesterday and it is only primer so it really doesn't matter. Stay tuned for updates since I hope to finish the painting this week so the new carpet can be laid next week.
