something a little different...

Image
Are you ready for an Our Daily Bread Designs sneak peek?  I hope so because I used one of the sets that are going to be released May 1st to make my card for this weeks Papertake Weekly challenge .  This weeks Papertake Weekly challenge is to do something different.  Well I haven't done cracked glass since maybe November so that should qualify as something different.  I also did no coloring on this card, just some sponging, which is certainly something different! our sponsor this week: Make sure you pop over to the  team blog  and play along with us. Good morning everyone.  Work was slow last night so I actually got home and in bed at a decent hour and I slept which is a huge thing for me, so I am feeling good.  Off to church this morning but first I wanted to share with you my card for the Anyone for Anya? challenge .  Since it is the last week of the month, this weeks challenge is another sketch by our own Dawny P.  I turned the sketch on its side because my image was taller instead of longer and I tabbed the sentiment. saturday stamping...

Image
Hello everyone!  I managed to squeeze in a very rare Saturday play time and get a couple of cards done. One I will share with you tomorrow but this one I thought I would share today.  For this card I used the Happy Fathers Day set from Our Daily Bread Designs and combined a couple of challenges.  Now I rarely do the Inspiration challenge over on SplitCoastStampers .  Not because I don't like the challenge but mostly because it is on Saturday and usually my Saturdays are pretty overbooked.  Well today I had time to play along and per the challenge the place to look for inspiration today is the Green Rainbow website.  I found a lot of inspiring things on the website but what caught my eye the most was this recycled leather mans bracelet. Isn't it cool and really rustic looking?  Well it inspired this... The sketch for this card is from last weeks Crazy 4 Challenges sketch . stamping in time with Betty...

It is time again to play along with the Stamping in Time with Betty challenge .  This week Betty's guest host is Marcelle and she is giving us challenge choices. We can choose to either use brads or colored pencils, so being the adventurous type I chose to us both.  Now brads and colored pencils may not be used that much by others people but they are staples for me so this was a super easy challenge. A bunch of the breadsticks are playing along with Betty and Marcelle today so you may want to check out their blogs and see what they have come up with using colored pencils and/or brads. Connie Sabrina Francie Patter Angie Betty My card today was also inspired by three other challenges.  I used flowers as challenged by the Stampin' Sisters in Christ , the sketch from The Lord Have Mercy sketch challenge and my color choices were from the Color Throwdown . Good morning!  Looking like a lovely morning here, hope it is lovely where you are too.  I have a day off from my "real" job today and the kiddos are out of school for their spring break so we are headed out to watch my middle son play lacrosse.  His team is playing what is probably the best team in the league so it should be an interesting game.   Being Tuesday, that means it is time for another Papertake Weekly challenge .  This week our challenge is another sketch.  I used Our Daily Bread Designs Dad set to make my card.  I stretched the sketch out a bit to make a A2 card instead of square and I used a little tab of ribbon instead of a text box.   Hope you can find the time this week to play along with us! our sketch our sponsor Make sure you pop over to the  team blog  and play along with us. sweet as sugar...

Image
Good morning all!  I am off on a grand adventure with my daughter this morning.  We are driving half way across the state to go to the Stamping and Scrapping Expo in Albany.   We're going to have the best time.  Jessika is only 9 but she loves to make cards and scrapbook nearly as much as her mama does.  I am really looking forward to seeing Kelley from Our Daily Bread Designs too.  She and her crew are there. But I suppose todays card is why you are really here.  Todays card is for this weeks Anyone for Anya? challenge; Sweet as Sugar .  Now Amelia (from the Greetings Farm) here is certainly sweet as sugar as is the Sugar Rush designer paper from Basic Grey that I have used. And I used probably too much of the sugar of the crafting industry, glitter! our sponsor this week: Make sure you pop over to the  team blog  and play along with us. too cute...

Hello!  In the middle of a major burst of spring cleaning here.  Finished the girls room and sorting out all their outgrown clothing, it took me the entire day but it is done, yeah me!  Hopefully Friday I will finish the rest of the upstairs.  Made one run to give stuff to the Rescue Mission yesterday, gonna make another on the way to work this morning.  What a good feeling to get rid of all that stuff.  My girls were surprisingly good about letting go of stuff that they no longer play with or have outgrown.  It makes me proud!  And they love their clean, rearranged room. Well onto what you are really here for, todays card.  I made this card to the Papertake Weekly challenge, it is Tuesday after all.  This weeks challenge is entitled "Cutie Pie" and if this little guy isn't cute, I don't know what is.  Love this image from Moe's Digital Pencil.  I colored him with my trusty Primsacolor pencils.  I used bright happy sunny colors to match my designer paper, then ad

get in shape...

Good morning all.  I hope you are enjoying a fabulous weekend.  Mine has been busy but wonderful.  The hubby and I bought a new car on Friday and I spent a good portion of yesterday just driving around, relearning how to drive with a stick.  I know there will be times that I miss my minivan but the gas for it was killing me now that I have to comute to work everyday and my cute little Kia Soul will get much better mileage not to mention the fact that the payment is considerably less then my old one.  All the little toys and gadgets make my little inner geek ecstatic.  Did I tell you it has a sun roof? Well onto the reason that you are here, for this weeks Anyone for Anya? challenge .  Before I tell you about the challenge I want to mention that last week we started including CCDesign images in the challenge in addition to Greeting Farms images, so if you have some of those grab them and play along.  Our challenge this week is entitled " Get in Shape " but it isn't what y

stamping in time with Betty...

I haven't found time lately to play along with the Stamping in Time with Betty challenge but this week I was honored to be able to make one of the samples for the challenge.  The guest challenge host is Our Daily Bread Designs own guest designer Randi Barrett and she has challenged us to use tearing or faux tearing in our design. I used one of this months newly released sets Mom from Our Daily Bread Designs.  I stamped the verse on vellum with dark gray ink and tore the edges of the vellum.  After adding some fun Green at Heart designer paper I made one of those scrunchy roses out of some matching designer paper then added die cut leaves, a touch of ribbon and a heart charm. Make sure you pop over to the ODBD blog to check out the challenge and the following design team members blogs to see their samples as well: Randi Angella Chris Betty Now I also made this card with a couple of other challenges in mind.  My color choices were inspired by this weeks Color Throwdown chall

Good morning all!  I hope you have been having lovely weather lately like we have.  Spring is finally really here!  The out of doors is calling me out to enjoy the sun but I did take a little time to play with some of the newest releases from Our Daily Bread Designs .  I used two of the new sets; Happy Father's Day for the image and Dad for the text.  The sketch is this weeks Papertake Weekly challenge , another wonderful creation from Dawny P.   I decided to just leave my image in sepia tones to compliment the 7 Gypsies designer papers that I layered together in the background.  I added some hemp and screw head brads for a manly touch. our sketch and our sponsor Make sure you pop over to the  team blog  and play along with us. I hope you are all enjoying this lovely easter morning.  I know I am!  Worship this morning was wonderful and now the family is off to my mother-in-laws for a family get together.  I made this card for this weeks Anyone for Anya? challenge .  This week is sort of a free for all and your are welcome to do what ever you desire on your card.  So no excuses, join us and play along! Did you enjoy this weeks April Foolery with the Our Daily Bread Designs team?  Well if you played along and wondered which card in the hop was actually mine, here is your answer.  Connie posted my card on her blog and the manly card I posted was created by the lovely Grace.  To be extra sneaky when I created my card, I not only CASEd Connie's style I made sure that I added the extra bit of bling that I never, ever use and I used markers to color my flowers instead of my usual trusty Prismacolor pencils. April fools Our Daily Bread Designs blog hop...

Today is April Fool's Day, and the sticks in the bread basket have been up to a little mischief!  We (ah boss it was all Grace's idea) decided that it would be a brilliant idea to have a little bit of fun with this months Our Daily Bread Designs blog hop and shake things up a bit by CASEing someone on the design team and sending them our card to post.  So the card below, isn't really mine.  One of the other members of the design team created this lovely and Kelley (and you too, if you chose to play along) needs to figure out who!  At the same time, another member of the team, who I CASEd, has posted my card. Now today we are not doing a really formal blog hop, but the team has all posted cards using the new sets and are linked to each other in their posts.  There are no secret works or letters to collect but just like every month there will be prizes for viewing every member of the design teams blogs and leaving  comments on all those you can, then return to the ODBD Bl
