crackled glass

Today's card uses the new hostess stamp set called Oh, So Lovely. This is a really sweet set really meant for pretty cards instead of rustic cards like this one. But I just wasn't in the mood for a pretty card today since there is a problem with my septic system and I have sewage all over my backyard, and 4 of my kids and a couple of the neighborhood kids are here for the day. All day, a really long day! Well stamping will brighten even the worse day. The card it self is pretty simple.
What I used:
Oh, So Lovely and Much Appreciated stamp sets and Sanded background
Blue Bayou, Sahara Sand, and Chocolate Chip card stock
Black Stazon, Versamark, Chocolate Chip and Sahara Sand classic ink
Blue Bayou and Always Artichoke classic ink for watercoloring
aquapainter, sponge and Blue Bayou double stitched grosgrain ribbon, glassy glaze embossing powder, heat tool.
How I did it:
The main image is on sahara sand card stock. First I stamped the background stamp from the set in sahara sand (you can't see it in the picture, it is very subtle) then over it I stamped the berries stamp in black Stazon. I watercolored the image using an aquapainter and blue bayou and always artichoke ink. To do the crackled glass technique I cover the entire piece of card stock in Versamark ink then coated the card stock with glassy glaze embossing powder. Using the heat tool I melted the embossing powder and repeated the process two more times. I then stuck the image in the freezer for 10 minutes or so. When I removed the image from the freezer I cracked it then sponged chocolate chip ink into the cracks. I then layered the main image on blue bayou and chocolate chip card stock. The card body is blue bayou card stock stamped with sanded in chocolate chip. I then added a strip of sahara sand, also stamped with the sanded background (I didn't reink it), layered on chocolate chip and sponged with chocolate chip ink. The "thank you" is from Much Appreciated and is stamped in chocolate chip as well. I then tied a piece of blue bayou double stitched grosgrain around the strip and glued the whole thing together.
