more bragging and a little bit of stampin'
I need a little boy birthday card so I pulled out my Circus Train stamp set and the paisley background stamp. I love this set but never seem to use it enough. I tried a new color combination for this card; Chocolate Chip, Blue Bayou, Real Red and River Rock. You all know that I have been having a real hard time with River Rock because it just seems too green to me but this color combo really worked. I didn't do anything really fancy for this card but I did extend the smoke stack and smoke above the main panel but layered the main panel as usual. The main image is water colored using classic ink and an aquapainter. The background layers are stamped with the paisley background stamp and embellished with red eyelets and red gingham ribbon. The greeting is from the Hugs & Wishes stamp set.
Now on to the bragging portion of our program today. This weekend we all went down to visit my oldest son at college. He is attending Messiah College which is outside of Harrisburg, PA. We were so glad when he decided that he wanted to attend a Christian University and Messiah was the best fit for him. He has settled in really well. He loves campus life. His classes are interesting and he is doing well in them. He has found a church he likes. It is a mega church which is very different from his home church but he likes it and that is all that matters. He has a job in the student union coffee house.
This is his dorm room and yeah I made his bed but the really scary thing is that he is the neat roommate. The boy whose room was so messy that he used to sleep on the couch, is the neat one!!!The whole family went to see Matt, the kids were sooooo glad to see him.
While we were on campus we visited the Oakes Museum. The three little ones really enjoyed it. Daniel was mostly there to check out the college girls. He has decided that maybe his brother isn't as dumb as he looks since he picked a college that has 2000 girls and only 700 boys.
Manny thought the bear was great!
and the slide at the end of the obstacle course they had set up for the kids.
