think pink...

Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and we all have either lost a loved one, know a survivor or know someone currently fighting their battle with this disease, I thought I would encourage you all to stamp your heart out with pink today. I made another card this morning to send to lady at my church who is battling breast cancer, while her husband is also struggling to beat his own cancer. Today I think of those in my life who lost their battle and those who won. I pray for those who are fighting their hardest and know that if something doesn't change 1 out of every 8 of us will have to do the same. I will get my annual mamogram done this month. Make your appointment today.

Okay off of my soapbox for now. Do you like it? I redid this card four times so you had better like it! The flower is paper pieced. I stamped the flower 4 times on pretty in pink card stock with the matching craft ink, so I could emboss it with clear embossing powder. I then cut out different pieces of the flower, sponged them with chocolate chip ink, curled the edges of the petals a little bit with my finger nail then layered the pieces together. The flower still looked like it needed something so I stamped and embossed the center of the flower in chocolate chip, on chocolate chip. The greeting and weather background are both stamped in chocolate chip ink but the background I stamped off three times first, since I just needed a subtle bit of color. I sponged around the edges of the background with chocolate chip as well.

What I used:
Fabulous Flowers, Weathered background, Holidays & Wishes
Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink and Chocolate Chip card stock
Pretty in Pink and Chocolate Chip craft ink, and Chocolate Chip classic ink
Chocolate Chip satin ribbon, sponge, clear embossing powder and heat tool, ticket corner punch

To Colleen who commented yesterday about the cheer competition. Send me a pm over on SCS. We must have sat near each other at the competition since our girls teams were seated right next to each other.
