stamping in time with Betty...

I haven't found time lately to play along with the Stamping in Time with Betty challenge but this week I was honored to be able to make one of the samples for the challenge.  The guest challenge host is Our Daily Bread Designs own guest designer Randi Barrett and she has challenged us to use tearing or faux tearing in our design.

I used one of this months newly released sets Mom from Our Daily Bread Designs.  I stamped the verse on vellum with dark gray ink and tore the edges of the vellum.  After adding some fun Green at Heart designer paper I made one of those scrunchy roses out of some matching designer paper then added die cut leaves, a touch of ribbon and a heart charm.

Make sure you pop over to the ODBD blog to check out the challenge and the following design team members blogs to see their samples as well:
Now I also made this card with a couple of other challenges in mind.  My color choices were inspired by this weeks Color Throwdown challenge to use pink, gray and olive.  I used the heart and the mom verse for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge which was to make a card with the word LOVE on it or something that symbolizes love and what symbolizes love more then mother?  Finally I used this weeks Sweet Stop sketch for inspiration on my layout.

What I used:
ODBD Mom
SU pirouette pink, old olive, basic gray card stock
vellum
Basic Grey Green at Heart designer paper
basic gray and going gray classic stamp pads
cuttlebug flower dies
sizzix leaf die
wide rose grosgrain ribbon
gold glimmer mist
heart charm
Spare Parts jumbo white brad
