lollipop!

Image
Good morning all. It's Sunday so it is time for another Anyone for Anya? challenge . This weeks challenge is another fabulous sketch from Dawny P. I used Lolli Anya from the Greetings Farm. She is colored with Copic markers and her clothing and accessories are paper pieced with some My Mind's Eye Bloom & Grow designer paper. I used the matching designer paper in the background layers and added a touch of satin ribbon and a tag. Make sure you visit the team blog and check out what everyone else has done. Whiff of Joy is our sponsor this week and they have provided a fun prize. For some extra inspiration this week I also played along with this weeks Crazy 4 Challenges, Lollipop challenge. What I used: The Greeting Farm Lolli Anya GP white, dusty durango card stock My Mind's Eye Bloom & Grow designer paper white satin ribbon Copic markers

a favor please...

My teammate and friend Renata from the Anyone for Anya? design team has asked several of us to spread the word about her sister's dear friend's four year old son who has an incurable brain tumor. She asks if we could send some happiness his way... Dear blogfriends, I know you all love to make cards so what's better than to do something we realy enjoy and make at the same time a little boy happy in the most difficult time of his young life? Daan is 4 years old and has a brain tumor which is sadly enough incurable. More and more body functions fail such as his legs can't carry him anymore. At the moment he gets radiation because his parents and the doctors will make his life as easy as possible and of course no one will lose hope! I think it is heartbreaking and I'm so sad that I can't do enything to help him! That's why I aks you girls to make him a funny card so he has something good to look forward to and I think it will help his parents and two (little)...

the icing on the cake...

Happy Saturday everyone. I have really enjoyed my month as a guest designer for Sweet 'n Sassy Digis. Sadly this is my last post for them but I have one last card to show you. This one uses this weeks new release Cupcake Cocoa . Isn't he so sweet? My girls are just crazy about all the Sweet 'n Sassy images and I suspect this card will be snatched up first thing in the morning to be used for my youngest daughter's BFF's birthday party. Nothing fancy here just fun. I colored Cocoa with my copic markers and layered him on some pink card stock and some gorgeous Basic Grey Bittersweet designer paper. I added a touch of gloss to Cocoa's nose and the hearts on his cupcake.

papertake tuesday...

Image
Good morning all! It is time for another Papertake Weekly challenge . This weeks challenge is another terrific sketch for Dawny P. I changed it up a bit (of course), elongating it to make it fit a standard A2 size and replacing the text with a bow. Make sure you pop over to the challenge blog to check out what the rest of the team has done and to play along! Our sponsor this week is: What I used: Digi image from the Stamp Boutique rose red, chocolate chip, white card stock prismacolor pencils, OMS, blending stumps brown checked ribbon

Hearts 4 Heart's Sake...

Image
Happy Sunday all. It's time for yet another Anyone for Anya? challenge and this weeks challenge is entitled "Hearts 4 Heart's Sake". I colored up my Sassy Suzie image from the Greetings Farm with my Prismacolor pencils, of course, blending with odorless mineral spirits and a blending stump. To go with the hearts theme I pulled out some Basic Grey Bittersweet designer paper . I used last weeks Card Positioning Systems sketch and added some big old hearts with buttons on them.

sweet 'n sassy saturday...

Image
Happy Saturday everyone. My little princess is having her 7th birthday on Tuesday and I made this card for her. I used everything she loves! Lots of Pink and glitter and bling. Because what little princess doesn't love some sparkle! The image is Heart Princess from this weeks Sweet 'n Sassy new release! I colored her with Prismacolor pencils, blended with odorless mineral spirits and a blending stump to match this Basic Grey Lemonade paper . I added a touch of rose ribbon, some sticky bling and lots of stickles.

he watches over me...

Image
Another sneak peek of one of Our Daily Bread Designs February release . This set is "He Watches Over Me". This sparrow with his thistle was a joy to color. I used my favorite Prismacolor pencils, of course. I cut the main image out with a deckled rectangle Nestabilities and sponged with some Colorbox chalk ink. I created this card for this weeks SplitCoastStampers Limited Supply challenge hosted by my stamping buddy Wendy. And boy did she come up with a tough one involving palindromes. I used this weeks sketch from the Lord Have Mercy blog, though I shifted it a touch to the left to make room to put a touch of ribbon. What I used: ODBD He Watches Over Me GP white, soft suede, elegant eggplant card stock Basic Grey Wisteria designer paper Memento black and brown, Colorbox chalk ink Prismacolor pencils, OMS, blending stumps Textile Cuttlebug embossing folder deckled rectangle Nestabilitie die soft suede polkadot ribbon

making music with my heart...

Image
Good morning all. I literally spend the morning working on this card and am still not positive that I did this image justice. Still feeling a little stressed today while waiting to hear the status of my job, everything will be alright whether or not I get laid off but I just want to know and get past it. So in the meantime I am waiting for the phone to ring, praying and coloring. I find it amazing that I can look at a chickadee and know that is what it is, but not know how to color it, without looking it up. So I am sitting at my desk with the bird book propped open in front of me. Coloring these amazing images for the February new releases from Our Daily Bread Design. This adorable chickadee if from the set "You Will Find Refuge". I love this set. I have to say that the chickadee is one of my favorite birds. They are so tiny but so bold, they aren't afraid of anything. As soon as I fill my bird feeder they are right in there, they don't even wait for me to...

bellarific friday, twinchies...

Image
Here is my story. I thought that it would be a really, really good idea to combine this weeks Bellarific challenge with the Taylored Expressions sketch challenge . The sketch would work really well with a 2 inch square (twinchie), which is the Bella challenge. So I grabbed what I thought was my smallest Bella image, picked out my designer paper, what I was using for embellishments and sat down to color my image with my trusty Prismacolor pencils. Now because I am a mom, I am multi-tasking while I am coloring, kind of a given if I am crafting in the evening. Had to work during the day so no child free time that day. I was helping Jessika with homework and keeping Manny from torturing Ellie, or visa versa, not sure which it was and watching a movie with Daniel, since when a teenager actually asks you to spend time in the same room with them you had better do it, even if you do have better things to do then watch Pirates of the Caribbean for the 50th time. So I finish coloring, sl...

Enjoying the quiet at home this morning. I have a ton of stuff to do but I wanted to take the time to do the SplitCoastStampers sketch challenge and the Color Throwdown challenge before I run off to buy groceries and do errands then return to tackle the mountain of laundry that needs to be folded. **sigh** Some days ya just start to feel like Cinderella... Anyway this weeks Color Throwdown is a great color combo. So Saffron, Old Olive and Melon Mambo. The mambo kinda threw me at first until I found this Basic Grey Fusion designer paper in my stash which is olive with touches of melon mambo. I used Our Daily Bread Designs Baptism and Confirmation Verses stamp set and the swirly stamp from Stampin' Up!s Baroque Motifs. I used the swirl to soften the melon mambo, stamping over it with olive ink. I then ran the whole background layers through with the textile Cuttlebug embossing folder and sponged everything with a little bit of soft suede ink, to once again soften it. What...

sweet time...

Finally found some time to play along with Betty Wright's Stamping in Time challenge . Her challenge is to use a specific stamp set in addition to an assignment. This fortnights choice is to use either of the Scripture Collections stamp sets and I chose to use Scripture Collection 1 . The second part of the challenge is to use word spotlighting. I combined this challenge with the Sweet Stop sketch challenge . Now this challenge also had a bit of a twist, which was to use a sentiment only, in the place of an image. What I used: ODBD Scripture Collection 1 kraft, soft suede, always artichoke card stock My Minds Eye 29th Street Market designer paper soft suede and always artichoke stamp pad Victoria cuttlebug embossing folder sponge soft suede polka dot ribbon artichoke brads

God's love...

Image
I am so grateful that I had time to bang out a quick card before work this morning. It would have been a really, really quick card if I hadn't ripped it apart 3 times. I think the only thing left from the original card is the ribbon, LOL! Anyway I combined todays SplitCoastStampers color challenge; Bashful Blue Suede Rub y with yesterdays Mojo Monday sketch for this card. I used Our Daily Bread Designs newest set Confirmation for my verse. I used the Victoria Cuttlebug embossing folder on the ruby red layer then sponged with a little soft suede ink to bring out the texture. The card stock and striped strip of designer paper are from Stampin' Up! as is the ink.

pretty pink...

Hello every one. Hope all my friends here in the states enjoyed their long weekend. I didn't get much at all accomplished but that is ok. Well since today is Tuesday that means it is time for another Papertake Weekly challenge . This weeks challenge is entitled Pretty Pink. Our sponsor KLM designs provided the adorable bear image that I used. Doesn't she just look so sad? I am sure that she will feel better soon all wrapped up in her pink blanket! What I used: KLM designs GP white, SU pretty in pink Basic Grey Bittersweet designer paper EKSuccess wavy edge punch regal rose wide grosgrain ribbon Prismacolor pencils, OMS and blending stump

Black + White + 1

Image
Good morning all! It being Sunday, that means it is time for another Anyone for Anya? challenge. This weeks challenge is Black + White + 1 , meaning black and white and one other color excluding hair and skin. I colored up my Lolli Anya in black, white and bright pink with my Prismacolor pencils then added a touch of glitter. Make sure you pop over to the blog and play along then check out what the rest of the team has done. Our sponsor this week is Stempelstudio .

sweet 'n sassy saturday...

Image
Happy Saturday all. I am really happy to share with you what I made with the adorable new Sweet 'n Sassy digi Pucker Up , one of this weeks new releases. This bowl full of fish is so fun to color. I used my Copic markers and colored the image to match some Basic Grey Lime Rickey designer paper. I then added some black layers and a touch of curry polka dotted ribbon and that is it because I was shooting for a clean and fairly simple design and this weeks Mojo Monday sketch was perfect. I know it is impossible to see in this picture but I used my Sakura glaze pen to add some gloss to the hearts.

bellarific friday, lovey dovey...

Image
Wow I wonder what happen to the words on this post? I know I typed them but they totally disappeared! I made this card for this weeks Bellarific friday challenge; Lovey dovey . I colored Grattytude with my Prismacolor pencils to match my Cosmo Cricket designer paper. Cut out the image and mat with my nesties, added a touch of pink and olive and tada, done!

sing and make music...

Image
Good morning all. I spent this morning in my office playing for the first time all week! My hubby has been home from work injured, not seriously, just some broken ribs since before Christmas and though I love having him around he is seriously cramping my style. This card uses the Our Daily Bread Designs set Sing to the Lord . I chose this set because this weeks SplitCoastStampers Ways to Use it challenge is to use birds. While cruising the challenges for some inspiration I discovered the Taylored Expressions sketch challenge , which I think works nicely with this image and I combined that with the Color Throwdown challenge which is to use Garden Green, Rich Razzleberry and Mellow Moss. This color combination finally gave me the courage to cut into this gorgeous velvet paper from Sei that Kelley the owner of Our Daily Bread Design sent me. What I used: ODBD Sing to the Lord GP white, SU garden green, rich razzleberry, mellow moss card stock Sei Juliette designer paper memento b...

a few of my favorite things...

Image
hmmmm and these are a few of my favorite things...... I will now have that song running through my head for the next week or so but it was just such an appropriate title because this card is full of that. Firstly I love, love, love stamping challenges and sketch challenges are the bestest and this weeks Papertake Weekly challenge is a sketch challenge. Secondly I love Kraftin' Kimmie's stamps and she is our sponsor this week! So what could be better then that? I colored up this Kraftin' Kimmie Lucy & Ricky image to match my Basic Grey Wisteria,( isn't it the most breathtakingly beautiful paper???) designer paper with my Prismacolor pencils blended with odorless mineral spirits and a blending stump. Make sure you stop by the blog and play along with us!

that's charming...

Image
Good morning everyone. It's Sunday again so it is time for the Anyone for Anya? challenge . This weeks challenge is entitled "That's Charming." For this card I used one of the new stamps I picked up a couple of weeks ago, Lottie from the Greeting Farm. I colored her to match my Memory Box, Rhubarb Tart designer paper using my Prismacolor pencils blending with odorless mineral spirits and a blending stump. Her flesh and the shadows are done with Copic markers. I added a little gold heart charm that I had in my stash. When putting it all together I decided that the Midnight Madness sketch this week was perfect for this card. Don't ya think? The way the ribbon wraps around the big panel made it the perfect spot to add a charm. What I used: The Greeting Farms Lottie from the Twinkle Tots collection GP white, SU basic black card stock Memory Box Rhubarb Tart designer paper black and red gingham ribbon heart charm Prismacolor pencils, OMS and blending stump ...

Our Daily Bread Designs first SCS challenge...

Image
I am really excited today to play along with Our Daily Bread Designs first SplitCoastStampers challenge . Our challenge is to use the color brown and punches or dies. For my card I used Januarys new release set Noah's ark . Using brown is certainly no challenge for me since it is probably my most used color and the scalloped oval was made using a Sizzix scalloped oval die. This card is much larger then I usually make. I made it to fit a 10 size envelope. I just couldn't get the layout I wanted into a smaller size card. My main image is paper pieced, each part was colored with Copic markers, then cut out and layered together. The designer paper is from a Basic Grey Marrakech 6x6 paper pad . I added a touch of chocolate grosgrain ribbon and some brown jumbo brads. Now for more details on the challenge; please make sure you go to the Our Daily Bread Designs blog by January 23rd before 8:00 pm to enter your card with Mr. Linky. You do not have to use Our Daily Bread Desi...

a note for you...

Image
Happy Saturday everyone. I hope you all are staying warm in your little corner of the world. I know I am freezin' here in Central New York where all it has done is snow every single day. I am not much of an outdoor winter person and my favorite thing to do in the winter is hang out in my pajamas, pop a movie in the dvd player and color with my markers or colored pencils. That is what I plan on doing today, so why don't you join me and maybe this adorable little koala bear will inspire you. Isn't he the cutest? My oldest daughter claimed him just as soon as I finished photographing him and she is begging me to print her up a couple for her to play with. He is from this weeks newest release "A Note for You" from Sweet 'n Sassy Digis. I colored him using my Copic markers and I added a touch of gloss with a Sakura glaze pen to nose and the heart on his envelope. Whipped up this quick card for the Lord Have Mercy sketch challenge and the Whiff of Joy challenge . I kind of mutilated Mercy's sketch, flipping it and stretching it to fit the size of the image. my crazy life strikes again...

Image
Lots and lots a drama in my crazy life this week. Family drama, work drama, car trouble drama and icky sick kiddo drama has been cramping my stamping time. I had colored the image and picked out the paper for this card a week ago to play along with this weeks Bellarific Friday challenge; Back to School but just couldn't find the time to slap it together and get it emailed to Em at Stamping Bella. Well I emailed it to her at some awful hour this morning, so add insomnia drama to my list of woes, probably to late to be include for the challenge but such is life. I still get to share it with you! What I used: Stamping Bella, Green Bean Baby Betty the Bookworm GP white, basic black card stock Cosmo Cricket The Boyfriend designer paper Prismacolor pencils, OMS and blending stump Copic markers black brads black wide grosgrain ribbon

Image
This weeks Papertake weekly challenge is entitled "New Beginning" and the challenge is do focus on new, wether a new baby, new marriage or new toys that you got for Christmas. Most of the "the kids are back at school" housework is under control so I snuck off to my office for a little playtime. I was very excited to see that Holly aka Toy is the new hostess of the Try a New Technique challenge. Holly is one of my favorite people on SplitCoastStampers. Her challenge today was paper quilting . I decided to combine that with todays Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I have been hoarding this lovely Sei designer paper for a couple of weeks now but I forced myself to cut into for this challenge and I am happy with the results. What I used: ODBD Confirmation burgundy, grey and white card stock Sei Juliette designer paper basic gray and going gray stamp pad grey taffeta ribbon nesties rhinestones

challenges...

Image
Since the weather was so yucky yesterday I spent the day indoors watching movies and coloring. Is that sound like a good day or what? I combined two different challenges together for this first card. I did the Kraftin' Kimmie's; Paper Piecing challenge and the Crazy 4 Challenges; polka dot fun challenge . I have no idea what I was thinking to use this image for paper piecing, everything is paper pieced with the exception of Charlotte's skin and hair and it literally took me 2 hours to cut out all the teeny, tiny bits but I think it was worth it! What I used: Kraftin' Kimmie's Charlotte , SU Lots of Thoughts GP white card stock, kraft Memento black stamp pad My Mind's Eye Magnolia designer paper olive wide grosgrain ribbon clear button, twine Copic markers for flesh, hair and shadow white gel pen My second card is the first card I have made for one of the Sweet Stop sketch challenges . Image
Okay so I do know I am a little late for the Mojo Monday sketc h, it being Sunday and all but it was wonderful inspiration for this card that I did for todays Stampin Sister in Christ challenge . Which was to make a new beginnings card, either for a new baby or for a new conversion. I thought that this verse seemed appropriate for either occasion. What I used: Our Daily Bread Designs, Baptism/Confirmation Verses vanilla and cocoa card stock Basic Grey Wisteria designer paper Tim Holtz distress inks wide vanilla grosgrain ribbon Prisma flowers brown cord brads Sizzix scalloped square die nestie circle and scalloped circle dies Victoria cuttlebug embossing folder sanding blocks and sponges
