Hello everyone.  It is Tuesday again and that means it is time for another Papertake Weekly challenge !  Sorry I missed last weeks, I was having a super crazy week between my hubby making a trip to the hospital and our celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary by renewing our vows.  If you are of a mind to pray my hubby sure could use some.  He is seeing a surgeon today about a chronic health issue and I am really hoping the surgeon has some answers for him.  Anyway enough chit chat from me, I know you want all the details on the PTW challenge and my card.  This weeks challenge is entitled "one".  For example I used one stamp, one ribbon, one brad, and one piece of designer paper (it is two sided and I used both sides).  Make sense?  Why don't you join us and play along? Make sure you pop over to the  team blog  and play along with us. Check out what the rest of the team has done and show them some love. I managed to feel up some time yesterday to play around in my office with some of the August release from Our Daily Bread Designs that hadn't seen ink yet.  The Scripture Collections have always been some of my favorites and on this one I used a scripture from the first set.  It paired up so nicely with the new Flower Frames 2.  I stamped the verse in the frame then masked the center and sponged around the frame with wheat colored chalk ink.  I add a bit of color with some Copic markers as well.  For a finishing touch I added one fancy metal brad in the corner so that I could enter the card in this weeks S tampin' Sisters in Christ challenge .   What I used: Our Daily Bread Designs Flower Frames 2 and Scripture Collection 1 SU whisper white, basic black and ruby red card stock more scraps of designer paper that have become anonymous over time Versafine black Versamagic wheat clear embossing powder Copic markers SU designer brad wide black grosgrain ribbon

sweet sunday sketch...

I hope you are having a blessed Sunday!  I know I am.  Since I spent a large portion of the last week cleaning and cooking I didn't have to do either today so I spent the afternoon in my office stamping away.  I did this card for this weeks Sweet Sunday sketch .  I used Our Daily Bread Designs Harvest Blessings and the matching dies.  I can't begin to tell you how much I love these dies.  I love to cut things out and pop them up and these dies make even the most intricate image super quick and easy to cut out.  I stamped each of the flowers 6 times.  Once on the white with the greeting below and twice on the gold and brown and one more time on the green.  Each of them are embossed and then all the layers are cut out and reassembled.   What I used: Our Daily Bread Designs Harvest Blessings and matching die SU whisper white and chocolate chip card stock Basic Grey Max and Whisker designer paper Versafine black clear ep wavy edge punch Spellbinders narrow chocolate chip r

It's week four of the Stamping Bella 's search for a new design team member and this week we are challenged to show off our best stuff.  I think this card is certainly one of my best.  I love this king of the wild things image, probably because I have 3 boys and each of them have at one time or other been a bit of a wild thing.  I colored up my image with colored pencils and layered on some fabulous BoBunny designer paper. What I used: Stamping Bella, wild thing SU whisper white, chocolate chip card stock BoBunny polka dot designer paper Momento black Versamagic wheat Prismacolor pencils, OMS and blending stumps Spellbinders wide brown grosgrain ribbon brown brads

I've had a bit of a rough week and that may show a bit in this card.  Please over look any imperfections and concentrate on the fabulous Mojo Monday sketch and the yummy color combo here .  Doesn't it remind you of chocolate covered cherries?  Maybe that is just my stress level talking... What I used: Our Daily Bread Designs Don't Worry SU whisper white, cherry cobbler, chocolate chip 7 Gypsies Gypsy Market designer paper Various Tim Holtz distress ink pads sponges wide chocolate grosgrain ribbon brown brads

I took a couple of minutes out of my crazy, insane week of cooking and cleaning for the hubby's and mine vow renewal this weekend.  Looks like we may have around 70 people, OH MY!  I banged out this card using Our Daily Bread Designs Happy Fall and the matching die and the Lord Have Mercy sketch  and the Color Throwdown color challenge. What I used: Our Daily Bread Designs Happy Fall and matching die SU pretty in pink, rose red, so saffron, pear pizzazz, basic black and just a tiny bit of chocolate chip card stock Prisma designer paper Versafine black clear embossing powder pear pizzazz ribbon

I am playing along again this week with the Bellarific Friday challenge.  This weeks challenge was a sketch by Paulabella (whom I have stalked since we were both members of the first Elzybell design team) that I found a bit challenging but I managed to make it work.  I colored "cakey Watt" with my Copic markers instead of the usual Prismacolor pencils to match some Basic Grey designer Oliver paper. What I used: Stamping Bella cakey Watt SU whisper white, basic black, cherry cobbler card stock Basic Grey Oliver designer paper Memento black Copic markers black brads, black grosgrain ribbon

Hello everyone.  Hope you had a great day.  Mine was super busy as usual but I managed to slip in a bit of playtime between loads of laundry this evening.  I managed to make a couple more cards as well as this one but since I am a meanie (or so my kids tell me) I am going to spread them out and make you wait.  I didn't do this card with any challenge in mind, a rarity I know, but I started with the sunflowers.  I had been playing around with the new dies from the Our Daily Bread Designs store that match this stamp set Happy Fall .  I have to tell you that these dies are super easy to use.  The are in two pieces.  One is a clear guide.  You place it over your colored image and line it up, then mark with a pencil in the little circle thingies.  You then remove the guide and place the die over the image lining it up with the pencils marks.  I then ran it though my Big Shot and it cut out these sunflowers perfectly.  I actually colored 9 flowers, cutting 6 out with the die.  I then tr

Here is yet again another one of my quicky cards.  Seems to be the only kind I have time for so please bare with me on that.  Though I have today off from work so I may get a bit of playtime. That is after I deal with pesky little details, like the fact that my house looks like wild monkeys have been living in it and that my boys have no sneakers to wear to school, or at least not ones without holes in them.  Probably should pick up some school supplies too Anyway on to the details of my quicky card.  Below is the fabulous sketch that is this weeks Papertake Weekly challenge.  I thought that Harvest Blessings from Our Daily Bread Design s would be perfect for this sketch especially since I now have the matching die too.  If  you have not seen these dies you so have to check them out.  I colored my image, lined up the die and ran it right through my machine and it detail cut my image wonderfully, enabling me to pop up my flowers. This is one of the cards I made the other day but haven't had time to post.  A super simple card that just relies on my favorite go to sketch and some absolutely yummy Prima designer paper.  I wanted to let the quote for Our Daily Bread Designs newest set "Light" be the focal point because I am sending this card to a family friend that graduated from high school this spring but I neglected to send her a card.  What I used: Our Daily Bread Designs Light SU pear pizzazz, certainly celery, cherry cobbler, whisper white card stock Prima Watercolor Rainbow Collection; Whimsy designer paper Spellbinders white satin ribbon antique brads

Good morning all.  I have several cards to share with you but no time to do more then share one this morning before work.  So you are just going to have to wait until the weekend to see them.  This mornings card is for this weeks Stamping Bella Bellarific challenge which is to bring on the bling!  No matter how I try I can't seem to photograph this card to show you all the glitter on this image so you are just going to have to take my word for it that this is a sparkly wonder. What I used: Stamping Bella Ketto and happy birthday SU blue bayou, cajun craze, crumb cake, whisper white card stock Sei designer paper (at least I think that is what it is, it was in my scrap pile) SU Sizzix die soft suede polka dot ribbon glaze pen glitter, lots of glitter

something old, something new, something borrowed or something blue...

Good morning all.  I have been working feverishly on the invites to the hubby and mine's vow renewal (can you believe that we have been married nearly 25 years!!! and yes I really was a teenage bride) later this month.  Gotta get them in the mail this weekend so I decided to slide it into this weeks Papertake Weekly challenge.  This weeks challenge is "something old, something new, something borrowed or something blue".  I think I hit all for parts of the challenge in this one.  The celery green was chosen for my project because I happened to have 2 packages of it laying around for some strange reason, the embossing folder and navy ribbon are new, the heart charm was given to me by my friend America (so it isn't really borrowed but it was a gift) and the touches of blue are there.  Now you don't have to do all four to join use and play along so why don't you? our sponsor this week: Make sure you pop over to the  team blog  and play along with us. bellarific friday...

It's FRIDAY and I actually managed to find some time to play along with this weeks Stamping Bella's Bellarific Friday challenge .  The challenge this week is paper piecing, a technique I love but frequent forget about.  So little miss Charlotte Ketto's dress and handbag are paper pieced.  The rest of her is colored with colored pencils and a bit of Copic markers. An extra added bonus for this month is that the design team is looking for a new sistah and I am controlling myself (well mostly anyway) and trying very hard to not jump up and down waving my hand yelling PICK ME, PICK ME!!! What I used: Stamping Bella Charlotte Ketto SU pear pizzazz, early espresso, baja breeze card stock GP white card stock Basic Grey designer paper Memento black, Versamagic wheat Spellbinders sponge Prismacolor pencils, OMS and blending stumps Copic markers for flesh-tones and shadows glaze and glitter pens dark brown ribbon

the living bread...

You know how crazy my life can get, right?  Well I managed to fry my second hard drive in about 8 months.  No not on the same computer at least, the last one was the desk top, this one was the laptop.  Apparently it didn't appreciate traveling to Maryland with me for a lacrosse tournament in 105 degree weather.  I have to say I didn't really appreciate the heat either, though my second son Daniel rocked the tournament playing with the CNY Arrows.  They lost by one point in the finals (insert big sigh here) not bad, not bad at all.  So now I am trying to get caught up on all the stuff I should have posted but couldn't. I made this card using Our Daily Bread Designs The Living Bread.  Nothing really fancy in the process, I completed it over a couple of days in which I probably tore it apart about 10 times but I am finally pleased with the end results.  Definitely a man card! What I used: Our Daily Bread Designs The Living Bread SU very vanilla, chocolate chip, creamy car
