Once again I am privileged to be able to make a sample for the Stamping in Time challenge with Betty Wright.  Her guest host this week is Silke Ledlow and she is challenging us with a sketch you will find below.  It is a high and low card or tall and thin.  Your choice!  However, it is not an A2 card or a square card sketch.  Good luck and have fun with it.  I couldn't quite manage to make my card as long and tall as I would have like due to lack of way to cut an oval as long as I would have liked.  Guess what just got added my Nesties' wish list, ya you guessed right, the long oval.  This is a great sketch to highlight a piece of scripture with so I chose to use this verse from Our Daily Bread Designs Scripture Collection 2 . our sketch Betty Silke Grace Sabrina Angie Fran Debi Kathy Randi Lorelie Connie What I used: Our Daily Bread Designs Scripture Collection 2 SU soft suede, baja breeze, kraft card stock BoBunny des...

a little something something...

Good morning all.  It is time for another Stamping in Time with Betty Challenge .  Once again I am privileged to be able to make a sample for the challenge.  This weeks challenge is another assignment challenge, we are to use any Our Daily Bread Designs stamps and "A Little Something Something" .   We are to use something "old", something "new" and something "received".  Other stuff can be used too of course but you need to tell us about these three!   For my something "old" I dragged out some very, very old Stampin' Up! organdy ribbon and some old favorite colors of card stock Night of Navy and Certainly Celery.  I teamed them up with some "new" 7 Gypsies designer paper (well new to me anyway, I just picked it up a couple of weeks ago) and the May new release from ODBD For the Graduate.  My something "received" is this lovely little charm that was gifted to me by my sweet design team friend America . Now sever...

It is time again to play along with the Stamping in Time with Betty challenge .  This week Betty's guest host is Marcelle and she is giving us challenge choices. We can choose to either use brads or colored pencils, so being the adventurous type I chose to us both.  Now brads and colored pencils may not be used that much by others people but they are staples for me so this was a super easy challenge. A bunch of the breadsticks are playing along with Betty and Marcelle today so you may want to check out their blogs and see what they have come up with using colored pencils and/or brads. Connie Sabrina Francie Patter Angie Betty My card today was also inspired by three other challenges.  I used flowers as challenged by the Stampin' Sisters in Christ , the sketch from The Lord Have Mercy sketch challenge and my color choices were from the Color Throwdown . What I used: Our Daily Bread Designs Mom GP white, SU sage shadow, bordering blue and almost amethyst card s...

I haven't found time lately to play along with the Stamping in Time with Betty challenge but this week I was honored to be able to make one of the samples for the challenge.  The guest challenge host is Our Daily Bread Designs own guest designer Randi Barrett and she has challenged us to use tearing or faux tearing in our design. I used one of this months newly released sets Mom from Our Daily Bread Designs.  I stamped the verse on vellum with dark gray ink and tore the edges of the vellum.  After adding some fun Green at Heart designer paper I made one of those scrunchy roses out of some matching designer paper then added die cut leaves, a touch of ribbon and a heart charm. Make sure you pop over to the ODBD blog to check out the challenge and the following design team members blogs to see their samples as well: Randi Angella Chris Betty Now I also made this card with a couple of other challenges in mind.  My color choices were inspired by this weeks Color ...

sing to the lord a new song...

Good morning all. Since the very first time I saw the new Basic Grey Origins designer paper I knew I wanted to use it with bird images. I thought that I would take a break from the newest Our Daily Bread Designs stamps and pull out an oldie but goodie "Sing to the Lord" for this one. Betty Wright has challenged us to use this set and add dimension and texture in her Stamping in Time challenge . Now I cheated just a bit on this one. Because I wanted to use the Mojo Monday sketch , I need the bird to be facing in the opposite direction then he does. So I stamped the image on vellum paper and embossed the image then colored it with markers. I then turned the image over, so that my bird faces in the opposite direction. The verse is also embossed on vellum and overlaid on designer paper like the bird image. My verse is popped up on foam tape to add dimension and I added ribbon and brads in addition to the embossing to add some texture. What I used: ODBD Sing to the Lor...

Finally found some time to play along with Betty Wright's Stamping in Time challenge . Her challenge is to use a specific stamp set in addition to an assignment. This fortnights choice is to use either of the Scripture Collections stamp sets and I chose to use Scripture Collection 1 . The second part of the challenge is to use word spotlighting. I combined this challenge with the Sweet Stop sketch challenge . Now this challenge also had a bit of a twist, which was to use a sentiment only, in the place of an image. What I used: ODBD Scripture Collection 1 kraft, soft suede, always artichoke card stock My Minds Eye 29th Street Market designer paper soft suede and always artichoke stamp pad Victoria cuttlebug embossing folder sponge soft suede polka dot ribbon artichoke brads
