bellarific friday...

Image
Happy Friday everyone!  I hope your week has been great and that you have the weekend off to play like I do.   This is a pretty rare event for me and I am taking full advantage of the love the scheduling fairy has shown me by giving me the holiday weekend off.  Tomorrow the hubby and I are attending a Rascal Flatts concert, Sunday I am hoping to get a little creative time in then Monday we are taking the littles to the NYS Fair.  So busy, busy weekend packed full of fun.  Okay I should probably stop gloating and tell you about my card that is the real reason you have stopped by to visit.  Todays card if for this weeks Bellarific Friday challenge which was to use an animal.   This adorable Turtle Tot is actually the only animal bella stamp I own, tragic isn't it?  I will have to remedy that just as soon as I convince my kids that they really don't have to eat so often, LOL. What I used: Stamping Bella Turtle Tots SU whisper white, daffodil deli...

I am playing along again this week with the Bellarific Friday challenge.  This weeks challenge was a sketch by Paulabella (whom I have stalked since we were both members of the first Elzybell design team) that I found a bit challenging but I managed to make it work.  I colored "cakey Watt" with my Copic markers instead of the usual Prismacolor pencils to match some Basic Grey designer Oliver paper. What I used: Stamping Bella cakey Watt SU whisper white, basic black, cherry cobbler card stock Basic Grey Oliver designer paper Memento black Copic markers black brads, black grosgrain ribbon

It's FRIDAY and I actually managed to find some time to play along with this weeks Stamping Bella's Bellarific Friday challenge .  The challenge this week is paper piecing, a technique I love but frequent forget about.  So little miss Charlotte Ketto's dress and handbag are paper pieced.  The rest of her is colored with colored pencils and a bit of Copic markers. An extra added bonus for this month is that the design team is looking for a new sistah and I am controlling myself (well mostly anyway) and trying very hard to not jump up and down waving my hand yelling PICK ME, PICK ME!!! What I used: Stamping Bella Charlotte Ketto SU pear pizzazz, early espresso, baja breeze card stock GP white card stock Basic Grey designer paper Memento black, Versamagic wheat Spellbinders sponge Prismacolor pencils, OMS and blending stumps Copic markers for flesh-tones and shadows glaze and glitter pens dark brown ribbon

Love Me Do...

Image
Welcome to the LOVE ME DO blog hop sponsored by Stamping Bella !  If you have just happened upon my my blog you may want to go to Bloggabella and start at the beginning.  I made this card for one of my Valentines.  I kept the card fairly simple because I wanted the adorable APTEE'tude image to shine.  I colored her with my trusty colored pencils, blending with OMS and added glitter to her sting of hearts.  I layered some Cosmo Cricket scraps together for the back ground, scalloping one edge and sewing around the edge.  How about a prize?  In addition to the fabulous eye candy, we have decided to hide a prize somewhere along the hop!  One pre-selected blogger will draw a random winner from the comments on her post, and the winner will receive a $25 Gift Voucher to Stamping Bella!!!  The fun part is...we're not telling you who it is!  So as you hop, make sure you leave comments, show the sistas some love, on every post so you have a chan...

bellarific friday, twinchies...

Image
Here is my story. I thought that it would be a really, really good idea to combine this weeks Bellarific challenge with the Taylored Expressions sketch challenge . The sketch would work really well with a 2 inch square (twinchie), which is the Bella challenge. So I grabbed what I thought was my smallest Bella image, picked out my designer paper, what I was using for embellishments and sat down to color my image with my trusty Prismacolor pencils. Now because I am a mom, I am multi-tasking while I am coloring, kind of a given if I am crafting in the evening. Had to work during the day so no child free time that day. I was helping Jessika with homework and keeping Manny from torturing Ellie, or visa versa, not sure which it was and watching a movie with Daniel, since when a teenager actually asks you to spend time in the same room with them you had better do it, even if you do have better things to do then watch Pirates of the Caribbean for the 50th time. So I finish coloring, sl...

my crazy life strikes again...

Image
Lots and lots a drama in my crazy life this week. Family drama, work drama, car trouble drama and icky sick kiddo drama has been cramping my stamping time. I had colored the image and picked out the paper for this card a week ago to play along with this weeks Bellarific Friday challenge; Back to School but just couldn't find the time to slap it together and get it emailed to Em at Stamping Bella. Well I emailed it to her at some awful hour this morning, so add insomnia drama to my list of woes, probably to late to be include for the challenge but such is life. I still get to share it with you! What I used: Stamping Bella, Green Bean Baby Betty the Bookworm GP white, basic black card stock Cosmo Cricket The Boyfriend designer paper Prismacolor pencils, OMS and blending stump Copic markers black brads black wide grosgrain ribbon

I then added a bit of sparkle with stickles.

Bella Birthday Bash Blog Hop...

Image
Welcome to the Bella Birthday Bash Blog Hop sponsored by Stamping Bella! If you've just happened upon my blog you really want to go back and start at the beginning at Bloggabella . I colored my Stamping Bella Turtle Tots birthday wishes image with Lyra colored pencils, blended with OMS and a blending stump. I added little touches of white, glitter and glaze with various different pens. The image is layered on old olive card stock then paper pierced. I used a baja breeze card body adding a bit of My Mind's Eye Abbey Road designer paper (using both sides of the paper) as well as a little strip of old olive. One strip of designer paper is punched with the EKSuccess wavy edge punch. I added a couple of Spare Parts white jumbo brads and a buttony bow. Three gift certificates for $100 in Bella Bucks will be hidden along the hop, but we're not telling you where so be sure to leave some love as you hop!!! bella's buttony bows...

Image
Stamping Bella's Show & Tell Challenge for December is to use a buttony bow. I am combining that with the Big Bella Birthday Bash contest , this is a winter birthday card NOT a Christmas card, honest. Just a simple little 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 inch square card. The polar bear Stamping Bella image is colored with Lyra colored pencils, and blended with OMS and a blending stump then cut out with a scalloped circle Nestie. I added touches of glitter with my Sukara glitter pen and flocking to the snow. My Mind's Eye Magnolia designer paper is layered on whisper white and riding hood red card stock and stitched on my sewing machine. I then added a fun buttony bow.

bellarific friday sketch challenge...

Image
It has been a while since I had time to play along with a Bellarific Friday challenge but this week I found some time. This image is one of my stash of images I had colored ahead, I did this one with my limited selection of Copic markers. Unfortunately I seem to have misplaced the designer paper that I colored the image to match so I had to find a substitute, this piece from My Mind's Eye seemed to work. Truly I am not sure what I was thinking at all with this color combo but hey the image was colored so why not use it. In real life the ribbon matches the paper I played around with the lighting and nothing would change the way it photographs so you will have to use a bit of imagination. I of course did not have any brads that matched so I used some craft ink and clear embossing powder to make the brads this shocking pink. My Attitudy has a touch of glaze and glitter added to her glasses, bag and shoes. This second card is one I did weeks ago for another Bellarific Friday Chal...

challenges...

Image
Avoiding everything I am supposed to be doing today and playing instead. I combined a couple of challenges on this card. The color combination; Pretty in Pink, Bermuda Bay, and Old Olive is todays SplitCoastStampers color challenge . The card layout is from the current Bella SCS sketch challeng e and I am also entering it in the Bella Birthday Bash contest. I colored this Ketto image a while ago to match some Basic Grey Urban Prairie paper and have just been waiting for the perfect time to make her into a card. Today was that day because the paper contains all the colors in the challenge. Ketto is colored with my favorite Lyra colored pencils blending with odorless mineral spirits and a blending stump. Hard to see in the picture but I also added some touches of glitter with a Sakura glitter pen and a bit of glaze with their glaze pen. This second card I did for the Lord Have Mercy sketch challenge . I can't say enough how much I love Mercy's sketches, the simplicity o...

be happy...

Image
It is the yuckiest, dreariest day here! I had to take 4 of my kids to the dentist this morning so my day didn't exactly have a tranquil start to it but I still found some time to squeeze in a little stampin' time. I combined todays SCS sketch challenge with the Color Throwdown challenge AND the Bella's Show & Tell challenge to come up with this one. The color throwdown colors were: kraft, olive green, dark brown and dark yellow, which sounds rather fallish to me SO I figured those colors would work for the Bella challenge which was to use an autumn palette. What do ya think? Now I have to ask you to overlook the slightly smudged stickles. Apparently I got a little excited and put my card together just a little to quickly without waiting for my stickles to dry completely. Should have used glitter instead but my hubby's laundry is currently in my office, and I don't know why but he gets just the teensiest bit cranky when I get glitter on his uniforms. Evi...
