The colors of the day are Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze and Kraft from the color challenge over on SplitCoastStampers. I combined the color challenge with the Mojo Monday sketch challenge and this is what I came up with. Nothing fancy on this just a couple of little fussy details. I stamped the main image with NQN classic ink on kraft card stock then added a little baja breeze ink with an aquapainter and sponged around the edges. I added some color to the leaves with a mellow moss Stampin' Write marker. I made the scalloped edge on the circle (which was cut with my coluzzle) with a small corner punch, then pierced with a piercing tool. Are you sick of me using this set yet??? Or does it just make you want it more? I can not believe how many different ways you can use this set. Today I tried it with the Chalkboard technique and did it on a chocolate chip background, like Beate Johns. Instead of me telling you how to do it I want to direct you to her tutorial , which is very well done. There is nothing like a brand new stamp set to bring out your creativity! So I pulled out the new Fresh Cuts set again today to see what else I could do with it. I really like the collage look of this main image. I stamped it in blue bayou classic ink, sponged the edges with soft sky, and when that wasn't quite enough I dragged the image across the stamp pad. I colored the flowers with a real red marker and did the leaves with a mellow moss marker. It doesn't really show in the picture but I added some highlights with the white gel pen. First I need to apologize. My life got crazy again and I haven't had time to stamp much less update my blog. My oldest son came home from his first year of college then we took the whole family off to Williamsburg Virginia for the Memorial Day weekend. Anyway in the middle of the chaos Stampin' Up! released a new stamp set and some new note cards that will be in the Fall/Winter catalog. The new stamp set is called Fresh Cuts and the note cards are laser cut and too cute for words.
