Debi's Crazy Life;

Greetings all!  This weeks Papertake Weekly challenge  is a lovely little sketch from our always fabulous Dawny P.  I pulled out my favorite Henry image from Whiff of Joy and colored him with my Prismacolor pencils to match some Basic Grey Sugar Rush designer paper.  It is really hard to tell in a picture but I added touches of glitter and glaze to the cupcake and candle with my indispensable Sakura glitter and glaze pens.  Hope you find time this week to play along with us.  We would love to see what you come up with! Whipped up this quick card for the Lord Have Mercy sketch challenge and the Whiff of Joy challenge . I kind of mutilated Mercy's sketch, flipping it and stretching it to fit the size of the image. The image is colored with Prismacolor pencils, the skin and shadows with Copic markers. Happy Thanksgiving my friends! I hope you all have the opportunity to gather with friends and family today. I will be at my mother-in-laws with the whole family. Today I am thankful for many things; a loving God, my family, my husband and the children God has placed in our care, wonderful friends, a home that is nearly complete and mostly ours, a great church family, a small close knit community, the time to spend on my craft and the where withall to do so thanks to a fun part-time job. I managed to carve out a couple of moments this morning to put this card together for the SplitCoastStampers Ways to Use it challenge. The image is one that I colored experimenting with my Copic markers, to match this My Mind's Eye designer paper. I am a long, long, long way away from being competent with these markers but am determined to master them.

Avoiding everything I am supposed to be doing today and playing instead. I combined a couple of challenges on this card. The color combination; Pretty in Pink, Bermuda Bay, and Old Olive is todays SplitCoastStampers color challenge . The card layout is from the current Bella SCS sketch challeng e and I am also entering it in the Bella Birthday Bash contest. I colored this Ketto image a while ago to match some Basic Grey Urban Prairie paper and have just been waiting for the perfect time to make her into a card. Today was that day because the paper contains all the colors in the challenge. Ketto is colored with my favorite Lyra colored pencils blending with odorless mineral spirits and a blending stump. Hard to see in the picture but I also added some touches of glitter with a Sakura glitter pen and a bit of glaze with their glaze pen. It is really amazing how much time you have to stamp when your computer isn't working. I have so many images colored and ready to make into card that I even amazing myself. While working on my computer, I colored while waiting for things to download and such. This is one of the images that I colored up and it works really well with this weeks Whiff of Joy challenge . Which is to use Red and Cream and one other color. I have been so super busy between games, practices and fundraisers for my 4 football players and cheerleaders and planning, prepping for and doing workshops and my last couple of events for Stampin' Up! that I literally haven't had a spare moment for myself in what feels like weeks. So after I got the laundry going and started a pot of soup for a quick dinner tonight, I decided to go have some me time. I decided to combine yesterdays color challenge from SplitCoastStampers, CC236: Whisper Pretty Soft Suede with todays sketch challenge . Love this pretty color combination, I knew it would go perfectly with the adorable Henry Celebrating Mouse from Whiff of Joy. And since I am on a mission to convince Katharina Frei that she really, really, really needs me on the Whiff of Joy design team one more card can't hurt, right?
