stamping in time with Betty...

Image
It is time again to play along with the Stamping in Time with Betty challenge .  This week Betty's guest host is Marcelle and she is giving us challenge choices. We can choose to either use brads or colored pencils, so being the adventurous type I chose to us both.  Now brads and colored pencils may not be used that much by others people but they are staples for me so this was a super easy challenge. A bunch of the breadsticks are playing along with Betty and Marcelle today so you may want to check out their blogs and see what they have come up with using colored pencils and/or brads. Connie Sabrina Francie Patter Angie Betty My card today was also inspired by three other challenges.  I used flowers as challenged by the Stampin' Sisters in Christ , the sketch from The Lord Have Mercy sketch challenge and my color choices were from the Color Throwdown . What I used: Our Daily Bread Designs Mom GP white, SU sage shadow, bordering blue and almost amethyst card s...

Good morning everyone. I am spending one of my last free mornings at home today, before I start back up at work tonight. Between doing all of that stuff that needs to be done to keep a family of 7 running smoothly and babysitting for one of my little buddies I found some time to bang out a card for a couple of challenges. I did this one for todays SplitCoastStampers color challenge and I used Mercy's Lord Have Mercy sketch for inspiration. I colored up the sparrow from Our Daily Bread Designs, "He Watches Me" to look like a gold finch, something I have been wanting to do since I received the sets. What do you think? What I used: ODBD He Watches Me SU french script white, bravo burgundy, basic gray card stock SU Nouveau Chic designer paper Versafine black stamp pad, basic gray stamp pad Prismacolor pencils, OMS and blending stumps crushed curry polka dot ribbon

he watches over me...

Another sneak peek of one of Our Daily Bread Designs February release . This set is "He Watches Over Me". This sparrow with his thistle was a joy to color. I used my favorite Prismacolor pencils, of course. I cut the main image out with a deckled rectangle Nestabilities and sponged with some Colorbox chalk ink. I created this card for this weeks SplitCoastStampers Limited Supply challenge hosted by my stamping buddy Wendy. And boy did she come up with a tough one involving palindromes. I used this weeks sketch from the Lord Have Mercy blog, though I shifted it a touch to the left to make room to put a touch of ribbon. What I used: ODBD He Watches Over Me GP white, soft suede, elegant eggplant card stock Basic Grey Wisteria designer paper Memento black and brown, Colorbox chalk ink Prismacolor pencils, OMS, blending stumps Textile Cuttlebug embossing folder deckled rectangle Nestabilitie die soft suede polkadot ribbon

challenges...

Avoiding everything I am supposed to be doing today and playing instead. I combined a couple of challenges on this card. The color combination; Pretty in Pink, Bermuda Bay, and Old Olive is todays SplitCoastStampers color challenge . The card layout is from the current Bella SCS sketch challeng e and I am also entering it in the Bella Birthday Bash contest. I colored this Ketto image a while ago to match some Basic Grey Urban Prairie paper and have just been waiting for the perfect time to make her into a card. Today was that day because the paper contains all the colors in the challenge. Ketto is colored with my favorite Lyra colored pencils blending with odorless mineral spirits and a blending stump. Hard to see in the picture but I also added some touches of glitter with a Sakura glitter pen and a bit of glaze with their glaze pen. This second card I did for the Lord Have Mercy sketch challenge . I can't say enough how much I love Mercy's sketches, the simplicity o...

sketch and color challenges

I still have one kid home from school sick with the flu and one of my girlfriends sons too. I am watching her son today so she can work and she is watching my daughter tomorrow so I can work. Thank God for friends! Since the kids are being so good I got a little time this morning to stamp. Checked out the Lord Have Mercy sketch first thing (because she has the bestest sketches ever) and the color challenge on SplitCoastStampers . Decided to combine the two together but didn't quite get the sketch right, so I did a second one with one of the images that I colored earlier this week. What I used: Elzybell Art Stamps (reindeer card), Stamping Bella Ketto GP white, SU basic black for both cards, Elzybell kraft (reindeer card), SU riding hood red (Bella card) Memento black stamp pad Cuttlebug embossing folder (reindeer card) Lyra colored pencils, OMS and blending stump white gel pen, glitter pen, glaze pen Spare Parts brads SU red polka dot ribbon (reindeer card) and baja breeze st...
