stampin' and braggin'

First some stampin' then I will get to the braggin' portion of today's blog. What do you think? I thought at first that this was a rather odd color combination but as I worked with it a little bit I decided I really like it.
What I used:
Fabulous Flowers, Baroque Motifs stamp sets
Whisper White card stock
purely pomegranate, always artichoke and taken with teal classic stamp pads
purely pomegranate double stitched grosgrain ribbon
What I did:
I started with half a sheet of whisper white card stock folded in half for the body of my card. I stamped the large peony type flower in the lower left corner with purely pomegranate classic ink. I then stamped the flower on a large post it note. I cut out the flower and stuck it over the flower I had already stamped on the white card body. This is called masking and it is a handy little trick when you want you designs to overlap each other. Next I took the swirl stamp from Baroque Motifs, inked it with always artichoke and stamped twice, over lapping the flower. I then stamped some of the small flower from fabulous flowers with taken with teal classic ink. Removed the mask and I then stamped the flower three more times in purely pomegranate and once in taken with teal on a spare piece of white card stock. I cut out part of the flower making each layer smaller then the last, the smallest being just the very center of the flower on the teal layer. I curled the edges on each layer then attached them all together. I stamped "dare to be fabulous" in taken with teal and added the double stitched purely pomegranate grosgrain ribbon.

Now on to the braggin' portion of our program. My kids started school last week and I wanted to share a picture of my two that are in elementary school on the first day. Are they cute or what?
And since I am already bragging I thought you might like to see Jessi at the game she cheered at on Saturday. How did she get so grown up????
